Heather and Rob’s wedding at The Armour House gave us all the European vibes. Red tiled roof, marble columns, manicured gardens, elegant gilded interiors… This was our first time designing stationery for a wedding at this Italian-inspired mansion, and we certainly hope it’s not the last.
When you have a venue as stunning as The Armour House, you let it fully inspire your design. That’s exactly what Heather and Rob did for their formal spring wedding. From elegant white and gold letterpress invitations to a custom watercolor venue illustration, we cannot wait to share how their stationery turned out!

Pin this inspiration for later!

White and Gold Letterpress Wedding Invitations for The Armour House
When Heather and Rob first reached out to us, they were dreaming of invitations that were timeless, romantic, and classic (our favorite!). Their color palette included shades of pink and green—a perfect spring palette for their May wedding in Illinois. They wanted their stationery to reflect both the formality and overall design of their venue. So, we got to work!
The first step in our invitation design process is to create two custom proofs aligned with your vision. From there, we’ll make adjustments to your design until everything feels perfect. Even if you’re not fully certain what you want your invitations to look like, we’ll help you through it. That’s the beauty of working with a custom stationer. We’ll work through everything together, taking your vision (fully formed or not) and translating it to something beautiful.
For instance, Heather had a palette and her venue in mind, but she wasn’t quite sure how that would translate to her invitations. We played around with several different options for their suite—from green envelopes to a formal crest to pink font. At each point, we sent Heather and Rob a proof so they could see everything laid out.
And the final result? Well, see for yourself…

The gold letterpress printing. The formal monogram. The custom watercolor venue illustration. We are absolutely in love with how their invitations turned out! They fully reflected the grandeur that guests would experience at The Armour House.
“The wedding invitations were extremely beautiful, and the design was charming and all I could have imagined. It matched our whole wedding aesthetic! Having someone manage the invitations made the entire process seamless and gave us so much peace of mind.”
Spring Wedding Reception at The Armour House at Lake Forest Academy
Heather and Rob’s wedding reception took place on a lovely spring day at The Armour House at Lake Forest Academy.
Oopsie Daisy Floral Design really outdid themselves with the flowers. Peonies, roses, and hanging amaranthus in shades of pink and green tied directly into Heather and Rob’s invitation suite color palette. Add those gold frames and the romantic candlelight, and the whole reception perfectly matched the formality of their suite.
We’re full-service stationers at Heather Paperie, so we design far more than just the invitation. For Heather and Rob, we took the details that made their suite special and used them everywhere. For example, their watercolor Armour House illustration went on the dinner menus, guest book, and cards & gifts sign. Their monogram and gold script carried through to the welcome sign, cocktail sign, escort cards, table numbers… even the cocktail napkins!
That’s the beauty of custom stationery: one cohesive design, woven through every detail of your day. Keep reading to see how it all came together!

Can you even imagine taking home a guestbook so beautiful? We love incorporating your venue artwork wherever we can!
