Traditional Kimberton Inn Wedding

Most couples come to us with a color palette, but this couple came to us with a door. A red door, to be precise. And not just any red door—we’re referring to the entrance of the Kimberton Inn, Abby and Dalton’s historic wedding venue (that just so happens to be one of their favorite restaurants).

They were dreaming of a watercolor illustration envelope liner to honor their special venue and give guests a peek at their big day.

So, we illustrated the stunning entrance and tucked it inside their envelopes. The rest of their stationery design grew around it; and that design followed Abby and Dalton all the way to the Inn. Everything from their welcome sign to their escort cards and table numbers worked together to tell their story cohesively.

About the Kimberton Inn

Location: 2105 Kimberton Rd, Kimberton, PA 19442

As a wedding stationery designers based in South Central, PA, we are no strangers to the fact that Pennsylvania is rife with historic wedding venues. Today, we are so excited to highlight one of them: The Kimberton Inn. It was built in 1796, and now operates as a restaurant and wedding venue. If you love delicious food (especially seafood) and traditional aesthetics, Kimberton Inn is the venue for you. It’s located just outside of Phoenixville, PA, near Philadelphia’s Main Line.

Every couple that inquires with us is different. Some couples have a color scheme and design style in mind, some couples know for certain they want specific embellishments, and some couples aren’t sure what they want at all.

Abby came to us with the idea of the Kimberton Inn taking center stage:

“I would like to have an envelope liner, and I think it would be really special if the liner or something else in the package could include a sketch of the Kimberton Inn.”

She was undecided about the color scheme, and whether or not they would include additional embellishments.

“I like the idea of something holding the stationery together but I am undecided on what specifically that would look like.”

Kimberton Inn Wedding Reception

After their wedding ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Phoenixville, everyone headed to the Kimberton Inn for the cocktail hour and reception. Abby looked stunning in a strapless gown, and carried a lovely spring bouquet from Buzy Beez Florist in shades of pink, purple, and blue. In keeping with the spring color scheme, Dalton sported a light grey tux with a purple bowtie. The wedding party dazzled in coordinating shades of lavender and grey.

We are obsessed with this color combination, and love how the invitation envelopes tied into the light blue of the hydrangeas.

Stationery that Tied the Reception Design Together
