If you’re dreaming of a coastal chic wedding, you are going to love this inspiration from Kent Island Resort! This summer, we had the opportunity to participate in a styled shoot at an oh-so-charming wedding venue in Stevensville, Maryland. Think soft ocean hues, breezy textures, and chic details. From the romantic wedding invitations to a sunset boat ride, everything was pure perfection.

A Dreamy Venue on the Water
Kent Island Resort was the perfect place for this styled shoot. Its charming grounds and waterfront views made an elegant backdrop for Katie and Brendan, the real couple who brought the day to life. The bride’s gown featured soft blue ombré layers that echoed the ocean. The groom looked sharp in a light gray suit. We loved the chic, non-traditional take on coastal style.
The resort’s natural beauty and open-air spaces shaped the design of the day. With the bay as a backdrop, the atmosphere felt peaceful.

Shades of Blue Ocean-Inspired Stationery
When the designer of this shoot, Laura, approached Heather and me (Emily) with her vision for the wedding stationery, we were so excited to bring it to life! We knew that we wanted to incorporate shades of blue to echo the ocean, as well as luxurious textures to tie into the florals and the bride’s gorgeous dress. Your invitations set the tone for your wedding, and your day-of wedding stationery helps carry through those design elements throughout the day.
Light Blue Wedding Invitations
Our suite came to life with soft blue tones and romantic script font. Coastal embellishments like an ocean-inspired envelope liner and a gauzy blue silk ribbon elevated the suite. It turned out perfect, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! More than beautiful paper, these pieces helped set the tone for the day, guided guests through the celebration, and offered keepsakes the couple could treasure long after the wedding ended.

Day-Of Paper Details
When you design custom stationery with us, you don’t just receive invitations — you get a cohesive collection that ties your entire vision together. For the day-of stationery, we designed a wedding program, dinner menu, and vow books. Each paper good coordinated with the invitation suite and the overall coastal vibe of the day.

Coastal Chic Wedding Reception Decor
The reception tables highlighted what makes coastal style so inviting. Textured blue linens, seashell accents, and pastel glassware created a light and airy foundation. Hydrangeas and peach roses added romance; and natural grasses tied the seaside theme together.

One of our favorite details? A four-tiered cake that mirrored the look of gentle waves. You could just imagine savoring a slice after an evening of dinner and dancing by the water, surrounded by candlelight and laughter.

A Sunset Boat Ride During Golden Hour
The day ended on a truly unforgettable note. Katie and Brendan boarded The Marylander for a sunset cruise. Can you imagine ending your wedding day cruising around the bay, sipping champagne with your best friend while watching the sunset? What a dream!
The golden light on the water created a picture-perfect finale that fully captured the essence of a coastal chic wedding.

Inspiration for Your Own Coastal Chic Wedding
Whether you’re drawn to soft ocean hues, natural textures, or custom paper details, this styled shoot is full of ideas you can use to bring your own coastal chic wedding vision to life. From invitations to tablescapes to a breathtaking boat ride, each element shows how you can create a celebration that honors your unique vision and your love story.
