If you’ve been dreaming of a lilac wedding filled with enchanting details, this styled shoot at Overhills Mansion offers plenty of inspiration! Set in Catonsville, Maryland, this historic estate gave us the perfect backdrop for a spring palette of lilac, lavender, blush, and ivory. Whether you’re planning your own lilac wedding at Overhills Mansion or simply love purple garden-inspired design, this shoot shows how much magic can come from a simple color.

A Dreamy Lilac Wedding Palette
Lilac and blush were the heart of the design, with sage and cream adding balance. You’ll see these tones throughout—from the bride’s bouquet to the place settings. If you’re planning a lilac wedding and want your colors to feel soft and cohesive, this palette is a beautiful starting point.

Setting the Tone with Custom Lilac Wedding Invitations
For the invitations, we leaned into soft curves and layered textures. The die-cut details card added shape and dimension, while the elegant script font brought in a bit of tradition. Lavender, blush, and cream tones kept everything cohesive. Undoubtedly, the floral envelope liner was one of our favorite details. It echoed the spring blooms used throughout this lilac wedding editorial and tied everything together beautifully.

A Garden-Inspired Ceremony
Overhills Mansion’s outdoor space provided room to build a ceremony arch full of spring blooms. The bride wore a long hand-painted veil that moved beautifully in the breeze. Her bouquet included roses, scabiosa, and tulips in soft purples and ivory—perfect if you want your lilac wedding florals to feel seasonal yet timeless. The groom’s white jacket and lilac boutonniere felt classic but fresh.

Soft and Airy Reception Styling
The Reception Table
The reception table featured a soft lilac linen and cascading florals in woven baskets. This kind of arrangement is perfect if you want something abundant that still feels natural. Glassware, mini berry desserts, and neutral layered place settings added texture and color without distracting from the lilac wedding palette.

Place Card Options
Looking for ideas for your own lilac wedding reception? We included two styles of place cards to show different ways to personalize your settings. One featured silk ribbon and handwritten names. The other paired elegant gold calligraphy with fresh floral sprigs. No matter which style you choose, your guests are sure to be delighted!

Enchanting Details to Complete the Day
Inside, a simple cake with a watercolor-style design stood next to a cocktail station with blackberry drinks and lavender garnish. Even the welcome signage doubling as a signature drink sign followed the same color story. These are the kinds of small touches that help your lilac wedding feel intentional from start to finish.
