When Leanne and Trevor began planning their November wedding at the breathtaking Elkins Estate in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, they envisioned a celebration that was timeless, elegant, and formal. The grandeur of Elstowe Manor set the stage for their sophisticated wedding weekend. To match this beautiful setting, they needed timeless letterpress invitations that would not only reflect their classic aesthetic but also create a seamless, cohesive experience for their guests.
That’s where we came in! Heather and I (Emily) had the pleasure of designing a fully custom wedding invitation suite for Leanne and Trevor that captured their vision perfectly. From the first consultation to the final mailing of their invitations, every detail was thoughtfully curated to tell their love story through paper. Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes to show you how we brought their vision to life through custom design.

The Custom Invitation Design Process
Design Consultation & Mood Board
Leanne and Trevor wanted their wedding stationery to exude timeless elegance, with a modern twist. During our initial consultation, we discussed their design preferences, event details, and overall wedding vision. Based on what Leanne and Trevor were envisioning, we created a personalized mood board to guide our designs.

Invitation Suite Design Options
Next, we designed two unique invitation suites. Each option featured different fonts, layouts, and colors for Leanne and Trevor to choose from. After careful consideration, they opted for the first suite.

The Final Design
Leanne was particularly drawn to the luxurious feel of timeless letterpress invitations. We decided to design their entire suite using this classic technique. The final design included a five-piece suite featuring a soft cream color palette with golden accents, perfectly aligned with their wedding aesthetic. We are obsessed with how beautifully they turned out! What do you think?

One standout detail was the custom envelope liner, showcasing a hand-drawn illustration of Elstowe Manor. This artwork highlighted the grandeur of Elkins Estate and set the tone for the unforgettable celebration to come.

Creating a Cohesive Wedding Brand with Paper
For Leanne and Trevor, the custom design didn’t stop at invitations. We extended their wedding brand to every paper detail, adding a thoughtful and cohesive touch to their celebration. From escort cards and welcome party cards to bar signs, wedding programs, and custom thank you notes—each piece was crafted to create a seamless experience for guests.
These thoughtful details looked beautiful but and helped guests feel welcomed and connected to the couple’s vision. When every piece of paper ties together, it turns a wedding into a beautifully branded event that feels both polished and personal.
