Sophisticated Destination Wedding at Château De Sibra

There is something effortlessly elegant about a summer destination wedding in the French countryside. Although Nadia Rose and Robert live in Washington, DC, they chose the stunning Château de Sibra as the place to say “I do”. Tucked into the south of France, the château set the tone for a sophisticated wedding with their closest loved ones.

Today, we’re sharing a closer look at the custom invitations we designed for Nadia Rose and Robert, along with moments from their wedding day. From the yellow letterpress suite to the way the paper details connected to the overall design of the celebration, this post shows how thoughtful stationery can set the tone for a destination wedding from the very first impression.

A Timeless Vision for a Destination Wedding in France

When Nadia Rose and Robert first inquired with us, they were very clear on what they wanted for their invitation suite. They wanted every detail to feel timeless and sophisticated. Nadia rose was drawn to minimalist details, and particularly loved one of our semi-custom suites: The Kathryn. To start, we created a mood board (pictured below) to ensure we were aligned in our vision and help guide our design choices moving forward.

Nadia Rose and Robert chose a light color palette that included shades of white and pale yellow. Soft whites created a clean foundation, while warm yellow accents added personality and warmth. The yellow held special significance, inspired by yellow diamonds in Nadia Rose’s engagement ring. This color became a guiding thread throughout the invitation design and added a meaningful layer to the overall aesthetic.

Letterpress Destination Wedding Invitations with a Pop of Yellow

When Nadia Rose first reached out, she had a clear vision for her invitations. She was drawn to letterpress printing and belly bands, and she also gravitated toward clean, more modern design. In addition, she knew that she did not want vellum or wax seals. Her goal was an invitation suite that felt minimalist and sophisticated.

Working together, we designed an invitation suite perfectly that reflected that aesthetic. Black letterpress printing on crisp white paper gave the suite an extra touch of luxury that felt appropriate for their formal wedding. We paired the invitations with light yellow envelopes to tie back into her wedding colors. A custom watercolor venue illustration in the envelope liner helped guests get excited for the location.

To ensure that Nadia Rose and Robert’s guests felt welcomed to France and prepared for the festivities, we designed a custom gatefold map of the château and grounds for their hotel welcome bags. On the outside was a watercolor illustration of the venue. When guests opened the card, they found important details about the weekend as well as a map of important places around the property.

Nadia Rose wanted something sophisticated, yet also a little bit whimsical. Given that they were getting married at a real-life castle, we opted for watercolor artwork with a children’s storybook vibe. We have to say, this gatefold map was one of our favorite designs of the year. What do you think?

Nadia Rose and Robert’s wedding day at Château de Sibra was a study in elegance. The ceremony took place beneath the trees on the château grounds, surrounded by soft summer light. Guests gathered for an al fresco reception with long tables, warm candlelight, and simple floral arrangements that let the setting shine. The evening flowed from dinner to toasts to dancing beneath string lights, with every moment grounded in the château’s historic surroundings and the couple’s sophisticated tastes.
