So many couples decide to plan their weddings for more mild months—May, June, September, October. But for the couple that got engaged on the top of a mountain during a snowboarding trip? A winter wedding just made sense. And their wedding wasn’t on just any winter day. Emily and Zach tied the knot at Pomme Radnor on the eve of one of the season’s biggest snowstorms. The chill in the air and snow on the ground made their candlelit celebration just that much more romantic.
Today we’re sharing a look at their wintry day, as well as the nature-inspired stationery we designed to perfectly set the tone.

About the Couple
We have to tell you that this wedding was a very special one for us because… the bride is actually part of the Heather Paperie team!
After helping countless couples with their stationery behind the scenes, Emily stepped out from behind the computer to design her own stationery with us.
Getting to know Emily and Zach as a couple was such a treat. They met in college and have been together ever since (10 whole years). One of their biggest shared interests is a passion for nature and the outdoors. When they’re not working, you can probably find them outside camping, hiking, or snowboarding. They wanted a wedding that felt true to them and reflected their love for nature. Their venue, Pomme, was the perfect place to make that happen.
Elegant Nature-Inspired Wedding Stationery
When we started the stationery design process, Emily used both her venue and the winter season as inspiration. She had a general idea of what she wanted her stationery to look like (the perks of working with us for over two years!), but also trusted our creative direction. Emily wanted to lean into the shades of winter—white and green—for their suite. She also wanted to add botanical elements that would bring a touch of nature to the design.
When couples aren’t sure which colors or design elements to choose for their invitations, we always suggest drawing inspiration from your venue or season. If you’re struggling to nail down your vibe, we created a comprehensive guide full of wedding invitation design ideas to help you.
Custom White and Green Wedding Invitations for Pomme Radnor
We are in love with how Emily and Zach’s invitations turned out. The final design was a simple and elegant white and green suite. We included a greenery design on the envelope liner, details card, and the belly band. It was the perfect way to set the tone for their nature-inspired wedding. We are also obsessed with how Sarah Brookhart styled their keepsake suite (an heirloom all custom couples receive). See for yourself:

Day-Of Wedding Stationery with Botanical Touches
For Emily, having day-of wedding stationery that coordinated with their invitations was very important.
“It was really important to me that all of our stationery—from save the dates to thank you notes—be cohesive. I wanted the same fonts, same colors, same design elements, because I know that your paper not only sets the tone, but also helps create a guest experience.”
Heather and I designed several paper items for their wedding day at Pomme Radnor. These included vow books, escort cards, table numbers, and signs. We used the same botanical design, script font, and colors that appeared in their wedding invitations. The stationery fit in perfectly with the overall wedding design!

Winter Wedding at Pomme Radnor
About Pomme
Emily and Zach’s venue, Pomme Radnor, is a true hidden gem. It’s set back into a wooded grove on Philadelphia’s Main Line, and is the perfect venue for any size wedding. Pomme describes itself as “woodsy chic”, and it couldn’t be more accurate.
The trees, pond, and resident swans (so precious!) make you feel like you’re in the countryside. Inside, the main ballroom is light and airy with high, raftered ceilings. It’s even got floor-to-ceiling windows that bring the outdoors into the space. Pomme is such a unique setting, and we love how it inspired Emily and Zach’s stationery designs.

A Wedding Day Filled with Personal Touches
The day began with a first look and private vow reading in the solarium. We love that Emily and Zach had custom vow books that coordinated with their other stationery. It added a nice personal touch and will be a treasured keepsake for years to come.
In fact, Emily and Zach’s day was filled with so many personal touches.
After their private vows, Zach’s childhood friend officiated an intimate ceremony in front of Pomme’s beautiful stone fireplace. Their cocktail hour featured a Philly cheesesteak bar, a nod to Zach’s origins. They toasted to marriage using the same champagne flutes Emily’s parents used at their wedding. And their first dance? Zach and Emily had taken ballroom lessons for weeks just to surprise their guests with a choreographed dance. Finally, as a nod to one of Emily’s family traditions, guests grabbed lottery ticket favors before leaving.
It was truly a beautiful day, and we can’t wait to show you all of the photos! Read on to see how everything turned out.
