Heather and I (Emily) recently had the pleasure of working with Jaimi and Ryan to design custom wedding invitations for their black tie wedding at Elkins Estate. Jaimi and Ryan were a pleasure to work with, and their stationery turned out absolutely stunning, if we do say so ourselves! We asked them their thoughts about their custom invitation experience with us. Today, we’re sharing their insight about the process (and their gorgeous invitations) with you!

Hiring Custom Wedding Stationers
Before working with us, how did you feel about handling your wedding invitations?
“Before working with Heather Paperie, we were so stressed with all of the design choices and finding the right invitations that tied in our personal style with our wedding venue.”
Was there anything you were initially hesitant about regarding working with stationery designers?
“I wasn’t hesitant at all once I spoke with Emily! She made the process so easy and streamlined our ideas into the perfect stationery.”
The Initial Consultation
When Jaimi and Ryan first inquired with us, they were inspired by another letterpress invitation suite we had designed for a timeless Elkins Estate wedding. Elstowe Manor at Elkins Estate is one of our absolute favorite venues on the East Coast. It is an elegant, historic venue outside of Philadelphia. Picture marble columns, crystal chandeliers, gilded molding, and a gorgeous black and white checkerboard ballroom floor! (See for yourself!)
Jaimi and Ryan wanted their invitations to reflect the elegance of their venue, as well as set the tone for their black tie wedding. We used a mood board to ensure that we were on the same page regarding their design aesthetic. Once we were aligned, we communicated every step of the way until the design was perfect!

The Custom Invitation Process
How did you feel during the process of creating your invitations?
“Emily consistently communicated clearly and efficiently to help our ideas come to life. I felt like I was working with a friend who was equally invested in making our invitation suite feel true to us. All of the stress that I previously had while looking for invitations and day-of stationery was gone. Every step of the process was so easy and took a big chunk of work off of our plates.”
What was your favorite part of the custom invitation process?
“My favorite part of the process was seeing my Pinterest board come to life.
Emily used inspiration from ideas that I had and turned them into a reality! It was so fun to see the invitations all together (guests raved about them as well!) and to see our day-of stationery at the wedding!”

Invitation Design Results
How do you feel about how your invitations and wedding paper turned out?
“Our invitations and wedding paper turned out better than we could’ve imagined. The quality was amazing, they looked fantastic, and we had so many guests asking where we got them made! The wedding paper fit in perfectly with the venue and added an extra touch of luxury to our day.”
