An east coast wedding is often defined by timeless style, but that doesn’t mean you have to opt for a classic blue and white color palette. Our styled shoot at Kent Island Resort in July showed how a bold pop of orange can bring new life to classic elegance. If you’re planning a wedding on the East Coast, and are looking to incorporate some bright colors into your palette, we can’t wait to show you this inspiration!

An East Coast Wedding Venue on the Water
With its sweeping waterfront views and historic charm, Kent Island Resort was the perfect backdrop for our styled shoot. Located in Stevensville, Maryland, the resort sits right on the Chesapeake Bay. It’s got everything you could need for a wedding weekend: a hotel, a restaurant, and three elegant wedding venues. It’s easy to imagine how couples could take in the view during cocktail hour or pose for portraits along the water’s edge.

Elegant Wedding Stationery
Invitations with a Custom Monogram and Wax Seal
Stationery is often the first glimpse guests have into the style of a wedding. We designed each card of this suite to echo the theme of the day. A custom floral monogram and gold wax seal with a rose both tied into the elegant florals. The flowing script font matched the movement of the nearby waves. When you work with custom stationers like Heather and me (Emily), we design stationery that captures the very essence of your day and your love story.

Watercolor Wedding Menu Cards
When you design stationery with us, you can expect more than invitations. We’ll help you create a cohesive wedding with paper products that guide your guests throughout the day and feel perfectly you. For this wedding, we featured watercolor artwork of Kent Island Resort on the wedding menu. Imagine how delighted your guests would be to see your beautiful venue in watercolor!

Coastal Elegance Meets a Bold Pop of Color
The foundation of this design leaned on everything you’d expect from an east coast wedding: soft ivory tones, crisp linens, and lush greenery. What made it stand out was the intentional use of orange. Alex and Nat of Wild Event Florals designed warm peach and tangerine bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpieces. The citrus-inspired tones created an inviting glow. If you love traditional style but want it to feel fresh, adding a cheerful color like orange is a simple way to transform the mood!

Reception Details with Pops of Orange
The reception tables layered natural textures with delicate glassware, allowing the florals to take center stage. Woven chargers and neutral tableware grounded the setting, while pops of orange caught the eye.
Even the food and drink was perfectly aligned to the aesthetic. Abby of Cakes by Abby designed one of the most creative and artistic wedding cakes we’ve ever seen. Five tiers, all adorned with peach and tangerine florals. And that strawberry champagne tower? The perfect statement piece.
These are the kinds of details that not only look beautiful in photos but also create lasting memories for your guests.

A Sunset Cruise on the Marylander
This day had the perfect ending: a sunset cruise around the bay on Maryland Fishing and Hunting’s boat, The Marylander. Captain Jason expertly navigated the waters as Juliette and Calder cozied up to watch the sunset. It was the perfect end to a beautiful day—with one last pop of orange on the horizon!

Inspiration for Your Own Wedding on the East Coast
This shoot proved that elegant east coast weddings don’t have to be limited to blues and whites. Pops of orange infused this wedding at Kent Island Resort with personality! A classic east coast wedding becomes unforgettable when you layer in color that reflects your style — whether that’s orange, pink, blue, or beyond. Even the smallest accents can make your day feel uniquely yours.
